Biography
Early life
She was raised first in Alameda and then Moraga, California. She competed in the International Modeling & Talent Association (IMTA), where she was recognized as the second runner up for "Young Miss Dancer of the Year," and first runner up for "Miss Barbizon Young Miss Talent of the Year."
She was discovered there by a manager and agent and immediately moved to Los Angeles for her first pilot season at age 13. Her breakthrough role was playing
Colleen Carlton on
The Young and the Restless for 3 years. Lyndsy is also an accomplished dancer and unwinds in dance classes when she isn't working. She has a younger sister, Hannah Leigh Dworkin, who is following in her footsteps.
The following year, at 14, Lyndsy booked the role of Colleen on
The Young and the Restless with a three year contract. With that, her parents moved the whole family to
Los Angeles. Since the end of her contract, Lyndsy has booked many television guest spots, television movies, two pilots, and an independent feature film. Lyndsy was homeschooled from the seventh grade on and graduated in
2005. She is an accomplished dancer and particularly favors tap. Apart from acting and dancing, Lyndsy is very passionate about music. Finally, Lyndsy has two cats, one named Gracie and the other named Twiggy.
Career
A mere two years, Lyndsy Fonseca was only into practicing her dance steps. Due to the suggestion of her mother, Lima, Lyndsy decided to compete in the acting competitions at IMTA. Now the rest is television history. Lyndsy was promptly signed by an agent and a manager and played troubled teen, Colleen Carlton, in CBS' number one daytime drama
The Young and the Restless. She also made a big move into primetime television as Jenn in the
Fox hit
Boston Public.
Lyndsy's career started in a rather humble way at the Barbizon School of Modeling in
San Francisco. The IMTA competition would soon change all that. In addition to obtaining talent representation, Lyndsy also was the second runner up in Young Miss Dancer of the Year, as well as Miss Barbizon Young Miss Talent of the Year. Lyndsy also received an honorable mention at IMTA's Young Miss Talent of the Year and Award Ribbons for Real TV and Sitcom Competition.
Lyndsy is busy with commercials, such as
Captain Crunch and
Radio Shack. She also has recurring roles as Ted Mosby's future daughter on
How I Met Your Mother and the frisky Donna on HBO's
Big Love. Lyndsy also enjoys roller blading, soccer, skiing and, of course, dancing.
She originally signed up for the recurring role at
Heroes. Due to her hectic schedules with Desperate Housewives, she only appeared in a brief cameo in the first episode of season two.
In fall 2007, she joined the ranks at
ABC's Desperate Housewives as the daughter of
Katherine Mayfair, a character moving onto
Wisteria Lane with her decidedly younger husband, played by
Nathan Fillion. Lyndsy also appeared in an episode of Switched where she swapped lives with another girl for a weekend to experience a different life, she stayed in Alaska for the weekend where she'd to rock climb a natural wall and use a chainsaw to saw logs.
